Active Transport ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

• Account info: Email address and hashed password when you sign up.
• Uploaded content: Text and PDFs you upload to generate questions, cards, or summaries.
• Usage data: Counts of questions generated, features used, and basic analytics (page views, referrers).
• Payment data: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers.

How We Use It

• To provide the Service (sending your content to AI providers to generate output).
• To enforce free-tier usage limits and process subscriptions.
• To improve quality (e.g., the community QBank stores top-rated questions in anonymized form).
• To send service-related emails (account, billing, security).

Third-Party Services

We use the following processors:

• OpenAI — to generate questions, cards, summaries. Uploaded content is sent to OpenAI's API. OpenAI does not train on API data.
• Stripe — for payment processing.
• Render — for hosting and database storage.
• Analytics — privacy-friendly analytics (e.g., Plausible) for aggregate usage stats.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not share your uploaded content with other users.
• We do not use your content to train our own AI models.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. Uploaded content is processed and may be cached briefly to deliver results; we do not maintain a long-term archive of your raw uploads. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by emailing us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Email support@activetransport.app to exercise these rights.

We use essential cookies for login sessions and optional analytics cookies. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser.

Chrome Extension (Study Inbox)

The Active Transport — Study Inbox browser extension exists for a single purpose: to send the text of a page you are reading to your own Active Transport study inbox, so you can turn it into practice questions or flashcards. When you click "Send this page" (or, on ScholarRx brick pages only, when optional auto-capture fires after 30 seconds of reading), the page's title, address, and text content are transmitted over HTTPS to activetransport.app and stored in your account's study inbox.

The extension communicates with no server other than activetransport.app, collects nothing while you browse other sites, does not track browsing history, and does not sell or share any data with third parties. Auto-capture runs only on ScholarRx brick pages and can be switched off in the extension's popup at any time. Inbox text is transient by design: items are deleted automatically after 30 days (keeping at most your 60 most recent), and you can dismiss any item immediately. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stores locally (a per-brick sent marker and your auto-capture preference).

Children

The Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice.
